HOT TOPICS “SAVING FLORIDA” –
This is a FRIDAY Hot Topics and will be held at the UNIVERSITY CLUB in March
Environmentalist, adjunct professor and author Dr. Leslie Poole will give us a glimpse behind the stories of her new book, Saving Florida: Women’s Fight for the Environment in the Twentieth Century– to be published in May . She will relate dramatic and moving stories of how the League of Women Voters inspired women to help save Florida’s environment, including former LWVOC President Fran Pignone. Orange County School Board member Daryl Flynn, a member of the League’s Natural Resources Committee, will moderate.
*NOTE: The luncheon will be on FRIDAY, March 20, so as not to clash with the League’s Legislative Seminar in Tallahassee, which will be held during the time period set for regularly scheduled Hot Topics.
