Rollins College will host a “community conversation” on high-stakes testing Saturday evening, a free event for anyone interested in learning about “parental rights to make informed choices regarding high stakes testing in public schools,” according to a flyer for the event.
Speakers at the Saturday event include a founder of Opt Out Orlando (a group opposed to high-stakes testing), former Orange County School Board member Rick Roach and former state representative Karen Castor Dentel, a Maitland teacher who lost her seat in the Florida House in November.
The event begins at 5 p.m. in Rollins’ Bush Auditorium, 1000 Holt Avenue, Winter Park. There is no charge for admission and parking is available at the nearby SunTrust garage, organizers said.
