More about our award winners:

Dr. Kathryn Norsworthy:

More about Dr. Norsworthy: Dr. Norsworthy has been a leader in Central Florida’s LGBT equality movement for more than 15 years and has played a leadership role in the passage of local pro-equality laws that have been game changers for our region and for Florida. She is a faculty member at Rollins College and a long time member of Equality Florida, including a former Gala Co-Chair. Kathryn’s strong voice and thought leadership has been vital in the passage of Orlando and Orange County’s LGBT inclusive anti discrimination laws, anti-bullying ordinance and in the passage of a domestic partner registry.

Ted Maines and Jeff Miller:

Ted and Jeff have long been powerful voices for Central Florida’s LGBT equality movement. They were founding members of the Rainbow Democratic Club, and over the years they have helped raise thousands of dollars for candidates who support equality. Ted & Jeff are also former Equality Florida Gala Co-Chairs and were critical in creating the Holocaust Memorial Center’s Upstander’s To Bullying Program which aimed to end bullying against all students including LGBT students. Ted and Jeff were named Orlando Magazine’s most powerful couple in Orlando, the first gay couple to receive that recognition.
