the Orange County Democratic Executive Committee (OCDEC) will meet
to designate a nominee to fill the vacancy in the nomination
for the office of Orange County Tax Collector
occasioned by the death of the Democratic nominee,
Earl K. Wood, on October 15, 2012.

Location: IBEW, 820 Virginia Avenue, OrlandoThe Democratic nominee for the Office of Orange County Tax Collector must be prepared to qualify by filing the appropriate paperwork, opening a campaign account,
and paying the statutory filing fee of $9,046.97 with the
Orange County Supervisor of Elections
no later than noon on Monday, October 22, 2012.
A candidate’s qualifying packet is being prepared by the Supervisor of Elections.
Anyone seeking the nomination should contact the Supervisor of Elections directly to pick up the candidate’s qualifying packet.
Any person whose name is put in nomination must satisfactorily demonstrate
to the Democratic Executive Committee that he or she is
fully prepared to qualify and pay the statutory filing fee by the deadline.
Nominations must be made by a member and will be accepted from the floor.
Each candidate will have 3 minutes to speak.
Voting will continue until one candidate has more than 50% of the vote.
