Jason H. Kendall

7th District

I was born in Orange Park, Florida in 1977 and moved to Maitland in 1980.  I attended Lake Orienta elementary, Milwee Middle School and Lyman High School.  My passions as young man were the outdoors, soccer and the beach.  Always a lover of nature, it is my goal to ensure that the future generations get to experience Florida as I did, as it is one of the best places to grow up in the nation.

After graduating from Lyman HS in 1995, I attended the University of South Florida where I studied history and political philosophy.  After taking a pre-LSAT test, I was unsure of whether or not I was prepared to commit to Law School as I had not yet even experienced the real world.  I needed a change so in 1997, I decided to put my studies on hold and moved to Los Angeles, California. After LA, I moved to to New York City- I quickly gained the real world experience I was seeking.  At the age of 24, I returned to Washington & Jefferson College and earned a degree in Political Science.  After graduation, I attended Norwich University where I received a Masters degree in U.S. Foreign Policy and Diplomacy.  With a Masters degree, I moved to Washington D.C. to work with a non-profit organization that taught High School students about the American political system.   I missed the sunshine of Florida though and returned to Orlando in 2009 where I was accepted to Florida A&M’s college of law.

Law school was challenging but quickly I realized that am not a lawyer.  After the first year, I withdrew and ran for Soil & Water Conservation Supervisor in Seminole County.  I won the seat and learned a great deal about local politics.  Currently, I work with a small company that helps small businesses utilize social media in order to grow their business.  I find great satisfaction in helping small business owners benefit from social media in order to increase their profits while decreasing their advertising budget. In the spring of 2012, I was accepted to Walden University where I am currently studying U.S. Public Policy. I have always enjoyed politics and have a great passion in finding out how to make government better for everyone while reducing the ever increasing burden of taxes and debt.

I am an independent Democrat who is moderate in my political views and believe that government can do great things in society but it must be efficient, flexible and limited with minimal corruption and deceit.  Special interests have taken over our Congress and I look forward to battling those special interests that our destroying our nation.

I hope that you take a moment to learn about my platform and know that I am not a voice for my party or special interests but am a voice for you and the 93% of Americans that are dissatisfied with our elected leaders.  It is time to stop with partisan politics and realize that compromise is honorable and necessary in order to get our nation moving again.
